Wednesday Feb 19, 2025
Wednesday Feb 19, 2025
This episode examines the recent charges of "Romanizing tendencies" within the LCMS over the past decade. We explore debates over liturgy, vestments, sacramental theology, and church practices, considering why some see a drift toward Rome while others argue for a faithful Lutheran recovery of historic worship and doctrine.

Former LCMS president Jerry Keaschnick is noted as criticizing a pastor who fully prostrated after consecrating Holy Communion. Keaschnick said this in a list of ”Romanizing tendencies”. The question arises as to why a man who apparently confesses that Holy Communion is the body and blood of Christ, would think it’s not appropriate to prostrate in the presence of the God of the universe.
