TGC 125 — Persuasiveness and Pervasiveness of Feminism
Wednesday Aug 18, 2021
Wednesday Aug 18, 2021
This episode is devoted to the persuasiveness and pervasiveness of feminism in the church. My guest, Adriane Heins (my sister-in-law and former Editor of The Lutheran Witness) and I explore just how pervasive, even in the most subtle of ways, feminism has been in the church, and why it has been so persuasive to those in the church.
Host: Fr. Jason Braaten
Special Guest: Mrs. Adriane Heins

Thanks for listening! The best place to begin for underground 1 Cor. 7 is Article 23 in the Augsburg Confession “Concerning the Marriage of Priests”. In this article the Lutheran fathers lay out the case that the Apostolic teaching does not destroy the law of creation, or the natural law. You can read the Book of Concord online at bookofconcord.org, if you don’t have a copy at home.

Thank you, I thought this was an excellent podcast which even as a single woman I found (I cringe slightly to use the term) ”empowering.” However, when she goes so far as to criticize women who do not actively seek out a marriage and having children, this seems in direct contradiction to I Corinthians 7. I would love to hear feedback on that and any other references which would apply to the role of Christian unmarried women and men.
