There are a few services at which we don’t celebrate the Eucharist. Funerals, children’s programs (like Christmas Eve), or any others where we know that there are going to be a lot of outsiders by intention. By the way, Close Communion is not limited to LCMS only, it is limited to those with whom we are in pulpit and altar fellowship. According to Dr. Luther, however (Large Catechism Sacrament of the Altar sections 33-36), those believe that they receive the true Body and Blood of Christ in the elements are welcome. Those who do not are not.
